The original intent for the first 990 was to create the top running shoe available. The USA-made 990v6 stays true to this goal with a range of performance-based updates. The upper removes the midfoot saddle, allowing the pigskin and synthetic overlays to seamlessly flow from heel to toe over the mesh underlay, resulting in a faster and sleeker appearance. The most significant change from previous models can be found in the interior, as the incorporation of FuelCell midsole cushioning provides both a tangible and visual evolution for the 990. New Balance MADE contains a domestic value of 70% or more. MADE makes up a limited portion of New Balance’s US sales.
